Amazon’s success comes not just from its technology and warehouses, but from how well it manages its people and knowledge. Amazon focuses heavily on attracting smart, skilled employees and helping them grow through training and a strong company culture. The company also makes sure teams work well together and share ideas, which builds what the book calls “social capital.” Outside the company, Amazon builds strong partnerships with suppliers, developers, and customers, which adds even more value. On top of that, Amazon turns its knowledge into systems—like its recommendation engine and automated logistics—so the company keeps getting smarter even when employees leave. This focus on people, relationships, and technology gives Amazon a long-term advantage in the market.
